Turmeric
Turmeric is a spice that is often used as a food flavoring in Asian dishes. It belongs to the ginger family. Other names for Turmeric are as Indian saffron, jiang huang, haridra, haldi.
It is the main ingredient in curry powder. You probably also know it as a bright yellow orange food coloring agent (E100).
Turmeric grows in many Asian countries such as India. It has been used for many years in some herbal remedies. The main active ingredient is curcumin or diferuloyl methane.
Currently there is no research evidence to show that turmeric or curcumin can prevent or treat cancer but early trials have shown some promising results.
Be careful in using Turmeric in combination with other medication. It is known for thinning the blood, so be cautious using it while using blood thinners.

Ingredients
- Two cups coconut milk
- One teaspoon turmeric
- One inch piece of sliced and fresh ginger root or one teaspoon ginger powder
- One-quarter teaspoon ground black pepper
- One tablespoon organic honey
Preparation
Mix the turmeric, coconut milk, ginger and black pepper in a small sauce pan. Heat the mixture to a low boiling. Reduce the heat and cook it for 5 min. Poor your drink in a cup, add the honey and drink it warm.
You can make this simple recipe easily yourselves. It is a very powerful remedy against stomach issues at night. Turmeric milk will aid your digestion tremendously.
